ECJS & JEP THAILAND
June 08 - 12, 2017 | Bangkok, Thailand
In 2017 ECJS held its first ever trip to East Asia. The event began on the Thursday with a canal tour along the Chaophraya river to experience the inner city of Bangkok, followed by a visit to the award winning Siam Ocean World. On Friday we then went out of Bangkok to visit the famous Maeklong Train Market, a Coconut farm where coconut sugar is made and then got to shop in the Damnern Saduak Floating Market. The tour ended with a visit to the Mangrove Forest to feed monkeys. For Shabbat we relaxed in the hotel and learnt about the history of the Jewish Community of Thailand, before a fun evening out at the Vanilla Sky nightclub. On Sunday a full day trip took participants up to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai before an activity day trip of Elephant riding, Bamboo Rafting and a Safari Park. On the Monday before departing everyone got to discover the central Bangkok streets around the Parliament House and Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, before finishing up with an extremely tasty lunch at the world famous Chabad Restaurant on Khaosan Road.
