Birthright Israel Trip
July 19, 2011 - July 28, 2011 | Israel
ECJS in conjunction with Taglit-Birthright Israel brought European students aged 18-26 on a free 10-day trip to Israel. The goal of our exciting tour is to inspire in our participants, a stronger connection to the Jewish people, Jewish life and to the Jewish State of Israel while having a great time! This incredible gift includes touring, hiking and jeeping throughout Israel. Participants climb the ancient fortress of Masada and float in the Dead Sea. They enjoy the culture, and excitement of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, as well as exploring the cities of Tiberias and Safed. A magical Shabbat experience is complete with candle lighting at the Western Wall. An emotional day is spent visiting Yad V’Shem and the graves of Israeli soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect Israel and are buried on Mount Hertzl. They ride camels and donkeys and discover the Bedouin and Temple era Jewish way of life. Over the course of the trip, participants meet Israeli students, soldiers, politicians and business leaders.
